Viola
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Sean Brekke began his studies with Anna Elashvili and Ina Litera at the Third Street Music School Settlement. He received his bachelor's in Music Performance on viola in 2016 while studying with Danielle Farina. He has performed with the Bergen Symphony Orchestra, the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, The Park Slope Chamber Players, Aurora Chamber Singers, and Natalie Merchant. Sean has performed in a variety of locations around the world from Carnegie Hall in New York City to piazzas in Tuscany, Italy. He has performed in masterclasses with the Catalyst Quartet, Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society, Jon Manasse, and Kim Kashkashian. In 2021 Sean moved to Burlington, VT. Since moving he has taken the positions of music director at the Orchard Valley Waldorf School and Executive Director at the Green Mountain Youth Symphony. He maintains a private lesson studio, teaching violin and viola in Central and Northern Vermont.
